Ashley Stalnecker is the education reporter at LNP | LancasterOnline in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she's worked since graduating from Ithaca College in May 2021. Stalnecker began as the news outlet's sole education reporter in January 2022 after a short stint as the outlet's regional digital journalist. As education reporter, she covers all 17 public school districts in Lancaster County as well as institutions of higher education and pre-kindergarten. Her former role, as regional digital journalist, involved covering the wider Central Pa. region (including York, Berks, Dauphin, Chester and Lebanon counties). LNP | LancasterOnline is a Pennon Company.

Stalnecker graduated from the Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications with a bachelor's degree in journalism and minors in honors, sociology and counseling. While at Ithaca she wrote for the news and feature sections of the Ithacan, one of the leading college newspapers in New York.

She's interned at the Morning Call in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 2019 where she covered a breadth of topics in the Lehigh Valley from breaking news to business and education. She also interned as part of the Online Reporter Project, covering the Pennsylvania Press Conference in 2018.

Stalnecker resides in Lancaster city with her fiance and their cat, Mitchy. She's one of three presidents to the Lancaster Road Runners Club.
